14,000 new visitors in a week? Hmmm - think we could maybe call that a successful web project

February 2010

The new Deepblue-produced Lecht website received over 14,000 unique new visitors in its first week of operation. It's estimated the old website had just over 100 visitors per week.

The new Deepblue produced Lecht website confounds even our high expectations

When we put the new Lecht 2090 website live back in late December, we had pretty high hopes. Unlike so many other years, the season was already well underway, snow was still falling at the centre and a solid base was already in place. We'd already revamped the centre's summer mountain bike website so we were already clear the design direction we'd employ on the winter site. Let's just say, we were pretty confident we'd get it right. Little did we know however that we'd get it so right that in the first week alone, the site would get over 14,000 new and unique visitors with stats still growing. Making Facebook work - 510 registered fans (and counting) in just one month

As well as establishing the main Lecht website, Deepblue also set up a Facebook community site to allow for greater interaction between client and centre. At time of print, user numbers had already swelled to over 500 fans from all over the world. Furthermore, on studying the main Lecht site stats we were intrigued to find visitors from as far afield as Canada, Belgium and Dubai - yet more evidence of the Lecht site's enduring global appeal. Lift ticket sales are already expected to be higher than last season - again showing the incredible success of this development - while visitor numbers to the main website and Facebook pages still increase day by day.

Finally, again as part of the Lecht site development, Deepblue also set up a community area (powered by Ning) to allow users to post videos and pictures taken at the area. The Ning network also allows registered users to post comments on the message boards as well as contact one another. Yet another great use of technology to further promote the Lecht and its range of activities.
