Mova App

Mova App was a motivational app aimed at keeping users on track with their aims and ambitions by providing timed reminders with inspirational quotes. The app was produced for both iOS and Android operating systems.

Overview

Deepblue was commissioned for the branding, development and launch of Mova App – including developing an iOS and Android app as well logo design, website development and producing a promotional video.

Mova App was ahead of its time in terms of how apps have since developed and was intended to motivate users to complete tasks by sending them reminders plus inspirational quotes and images to help them keep on track of their aims.

The app was specifically designed to appear simple on the outside to give a better user experience but there was quite a lot going on under the surface to power these timed notifications.

 

Scope of work

Deepblue handled all aspects of the Mova App production from logo design to the web and app development and all other aspects of the venture’s branding.

Our remit included: logo design / producing a Fully Responsive website / producing Android and iOS apps / performing SEO and ASO / video production / social media promotion.

Mova App was released on both Android and iOS operating systems, obviously requiring us to make two different versions.

The app styling was deliberately kept as simple as possible to aid with the user experience while still maintaining a clean and aesthetic look throughout. Users were able to personalise the app based on the type of aim or progression they were hoping to achieve.

Responsive website

As with the majority of our branding and promotions tasks, the key to Mova’s success would be to use all available media to build interest in the app. As a result, we set about designing and developing a single-page website to gain attention – a site that was heavily optimised to appear high up Google’s listings.

The site – along with the work we did on Mova’s social channels – let the venture hit the ground running and helped to quickly establish the brand in a highly competitive marketplace.

Icon / logo design

As the Mova service was provided purely through the app, it was important we designed a logo that would across all branding – whether that be on business cards, flyers, the website or as the app launch icon.

We incorporated the ideas of time-based notifications and achieving goals in this clean logo design – a simple ident that worked across all formats (even with reversed colours).

Web marketing / SEO

There’s no point in making a great website or app if you don’t manage to get the users so Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and App Store Optimisation (ASO) were critical to the success of the Mova app.

As part of a coordinated online marketing drive, we worked extensively on the app’s website and store presence to ensure both gained the maximum exposure possible.

Promo video

Of all forms of media, video is easily the most successful for promoting a new concept or product while also giving potential users an idea of the benefits they might attain – plus video has the very real potential of being shared by users online.

Mova launch edit

We produced this short intro video to help promote the app to a wider audience. The Mova promo edit did a great job of announcing the product while also encouraging installs.

The video was then used on the usual social channels (Facebook, YouTube and Twitter) as well as on the stores to help entice potential users to install.

As with all our app productions, we made a conscious effort to make the User Interface (UI) of Mova as simple as possible to help guide users through the process of setting up an account and choosing the style and regularity of their notifications.
