VaperApp
VaperApp is yet another in-house Deepblue production – this time developed in association with Scotland’s biggest and best e-cig supplier, E-Cigs Scotland. The app’s primary function was to help users quit smoking by replacing cigarettes with e-cigs while showing users the health benefits of quitting.
Overview
Vaper-App is an iOS/Android application that uses technology and vaping to help users stop smoking – and, perhaps more importantly, stay stopped. The app’s tagline was ‘Vaping made simple’ which amply describes the key goals of the project.
It’s generally accepted that vaping can help smokers quit so the app features the option to purchase a vaping starter kit. Users can also sign up to an automatically recurring e-liquid subscription, delivered direct to door. Vaper-App had an in-app e-commerce platform allowing users to buy vaping equipment and also subscribe to monthly e-liquid orders, automatically tailored to their usage based on the strength and amount of cigarettes they used to smoke.
Scope of work
Deepbluemedia was responsible for all aspects of the VaperApp production, launch and promotion. We handled all requirements internally, drawing on our considerable design, development and promotion skills.
Our remit included: app design and development / logo design / producing a Fully Responsive marketing website / performing SEO and ASO / video production / social media promotion.

App development
Deepblue released VaperApp on the Android and iOS mobile operating systems. The app also tied into a backend store featuring the most popular e-cig liquids and starter vapes for users to choose from. This store featured a secure payment platform plus repeat ordering system to allow users to set up a weekly or monthly delivery of their preferred products.
Responsive website
Deepblue produced a Fully Responsive, single-page website for VaperApp which automatically scaled to all devices – mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop. Together with the extensive SEO / ASO work we performed, the site was an invaluable asset for helping promote VaperApp to a wider audience while also driving significant traffic to the app stores.
We also included user guides and tips on the site – although the app was extremely easy and intuitive to set up.
Marketing / SEO / ASO
In a world where there are now more web pages than there are people, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is now an essential part of the promotion of any internet-based venture to help a company, product or service stand out. We performed extensive SEO work on the VaperApp site as well as App Store Optimisation (ASO) to increase downloads.
Stats show around 78% of all consumer journeys now begin with an online search – typically on Google – so our SEO work particularly focused on this engine. In addition, the ASO work was also vital to build interest in the app and generate traffic in the app stores.

With a higher engagement rate than any other media online, video is always our format of choice when it comes to launching and explaining new products. We produced this short teaser video that helped promote the app while also outlining its key features.

We produced this short overview video for the promotion of VaperApp on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter as well as on the app’s main website. The production helped build and solidify the brand while also increasing its online presence.
